Is It The Proper Treatment For Hair Loss In Women?

Unfortunately, many women every day suffer from hair fall. It is as common a problem among women as in men.

Most women try treating hair loss with hair care products or by wearing extensions. It was rare for women who chose hair restoration mainly due to lack of awareness.

Nowadays, with the advances in hair transplantation, many women undergo this procedure every year and get the desired results.

What are the Causes Of Hair Loss In Women?

Before you start finding a treatment for your hair loss, you must know why the hair falls.

Some of the women’s hair loss causes are:

  • Thyroid problems.
  • Hormone problems.
  • Anemia.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  • Low level of any vitamin.
  • Medications, such as birth control pills, acne pills etc
  • Ageing and menopause.
  • Rapid weight loss
  • Psychological problems.

Many of these issues can be corrected by meeting a dermatologist and following treatments. The dermatologist may recommend PRP (platelet-rich plasma) or GFC (Growth Factor Concentrate), a non-surgical treatment for hair loss, or may sometimes recommend a hair restoration procedure.

Are You The Right Or Poor Candidate For A Female Hair Transplant?

Some factors indicate whether you are the right candidate for a female hair transplant.

  • Women who suffer from a diffuse pattern of hair loss are sometimes poor candidates for the procedure. This type of hair falling causes thin hair in all areas of the scalp. It means they have poor donor areas, so hair restoration surgery is not possible
  • Women with hair loss in the entire scalp created by burns or trauma aren’t good candidates for this procedure.
  • Women who suffer hair loss caused by alopecia are ideal candidates for hair transplant surgery.
  • Women who have patterned baldness are good candidates. This hair loss is like male pattern baldness, which usually doesn’t affect the donor area.
  • Women with broad brows and a recession of the hairline can be suitable for HT

After the surgery, the surgeon will cover your scalp for two days. Then, the surgeon will describe a painkiller to use when needed and antibiotics for a few days.

In general, you can go home on the same day. However, the surgeon will ask you to come again after two days to remove the bandage, check your scalp, and wash it with a medical lotion.

After approximately two weeks, the transplanted hair will fall gradually, and you will notice new hair growth. Finally, the surgeon will ask you to follow some upcoming months’ instructions.

It is necessary to get the best results, such as washing your hair, following a special diet, avoiding sun rays, and reducing smoking. Usually, most people will notice that new hair growth covers the treated area after months.
